SpiderSmart's flagship course combines 35 years of experience with expert instruction and the highest attention to detail. This class helps students master reading comprehension and write effective essays. And, our vocabulary program for on-site students gives them powerful tools to make their writing come alive.
Three-step process
Read: Student select a book to read each week from our physical library of over 3,000 books or our online library of even more books. Reading a book each week is a great way to quickly improve comprehension and intake new vocabulary.
Write: Each book has its own homework assignment written by SpiderSmart curriculum experts. The homework includes a vocabulary section that has students write sentences using complex words that appear in their book. The reading comprehension section trains students to pay attention to the details of their book. Lastly, the essay section encourages students to think critically and analyze certain aspects—like the setting or certain symbols—of the book. Writing an essay each week gives them the experience and practice they need to excel on school assignments.
Revise: When students come to class, our expert instructors give pinpoint feedback on each aspect of the student's homework assignment. They are encouraged to revise their essay—an important step when developing writing skills. Instruction in class is always one-on-one, and the feedback they receive is always personalized.
