In-class timed essay writing is a big challenging for most of the high school students in their English course studies. Our instructor helps the students to overcome this "barrier" and score high. It especially benefits all the rising 9th, 10th and 11th grade students who lack such preparation due to the inadequate teaching quality in the pandemic environment.
This session is focused on close reading and analysis of shorter works of literature and applying the analysis to an in-class timed write as seen in all levels of high school English courses. It teaches writing strategies to help students interpret and "attack" literature analysis essay prompts, provides tips to manage time during in-class timed writings, and suggestions for improving topic sentences, embedding text evidence, and commentary of body paragraphs. The instructor grades each student's timed essay and meets one-on-one with them to provide feedback.
Instructor Ms. B is an AP English teacher in the FBISD with more than 20 years of teaching experience.
